What Is Steps for Hope
Steps for Hope is a community-driven event held right here in Ocean County. It was created to raise awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, commonly known as DMD. The event is organized in partnership with JAR of Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to DMD research and support. Local businesses, families, runners, and volunteers are all brought together under one shared mission. Every registration, sponsorship, and volunteer hour is felt by the families this cause serves.
DMD is a rare and progressive muscle disease. It affects primarily young boys and currently has no cure. Through events like Steps for Hope, awareness is raised and funding is directed toward research that could change lives.
