Royal Stitch and Print owner Mark Rosen recently sat down with Abdel Khawatmi on the GOT Mortgages podcast.
The conversation covered Mark’s path into the promotional products industry, the values behind his family business, and the wide range of services offered at Royal Stitch and Print. Listen to the full episode, or read on for a recap of the conversation.
From Real Estate Sales to a Family Print Shop
Before starting Royal Stitch and Print, Mark spent years in real estate and insurance sales. He describes owning several businesses over his career, learning something from each one along the way. Royal Stitch and Print started almost by accident, when Mark and his family purchased a single embroidery machine to try out a side project. Within a few months, that side project became a full-time focus.
Today, Mark runs the business with his wife and daughter-in-law, Nicole. What began as one embroidery head has grown into a full production shop with multiple machines and in-house heat press printing. Mark credits the growth to listening closely to what customers actually needed, then building the capability to deliver it in-house.
Full-Service Embroidery, Printing, and Promotional Products
One theme from the podcast stood out. Royal Stitch and Print does not outsource the work. Mark explained how the business grew from embroidery alone into a full custom branding shop, handling everything under one roof.
Custom Apparel Printing
Royal Stitch and Print offers embroidery for polos, jackets, hats, and bags, along with screen printing for bulk apparel orders. The shop also produces direct-to-film transfers for full-color, detailed designs, plus sublimation printing and heat transfer vinyl for names, numbers, and durable graphics.
Promotional Products and Event Materials
Beyond apparel, the shop produces promotional items including pens, mugs, and branded giveaways for businesses and events. Royal Stitch and Print also builds event tents and canopies and vinyl banners and yard signs for outdoor promotions. Teams and organizations can also set up a custom web store to make group ordering simple.
As Mark put it on the podcast, if a customer needs something, the goal is to figure out how to make it happen in-house, rather than sending the order elsewhere.
Customer Service That Sets Royal Stitch and Print Apart
A major part of the conversation focused on customer service. Mark explained that many people associate promotional products with large online platforms built purely for convenience. Royal Stitch and Print takes a different approach.
Mark shared that customers often mention his direct involvement as the reason they keep coming back. He picks up the phone, handles the details personally, and treats every order as a priority, no matter the size. That hands-on approach, paired with an in-house design team that can build print-ready artwork from scratch, is part of what separates a local shop from a national print-on-demand company.
Rooted in the Community
Community involvement came up throughout the episode. Mark mentioned his role as this year’s president of the Rotary Club, along with serving on two boards with local Chambers of Commerce. He also serves on the board of A Need We Feed, a nonprofit working to reduce food insecurity in the area.
For Mark, business and community work go hand in hand. Networking, in his view, is not about transactions. It is about building real relationships and looking for ways to help other local business owners succeed.
A Family Business Built on Craftsmanship
The podcast also touched on Mark’s family, including 44 years of marriage and running the business alongside his wife and daughter-in-law. That family foundation shows up in how Royal Stitch and Print operates day to day. Every order gets personal attention, and every customer gets a direct line to the people actually producing their apparel and products.
